Last updated: October 2026. Short version: pay for the workspace, bring your own agent access, review what the AI builds, and don't use Kaptin to harm others.
The service
Kaptin is a desktop application that organizes your work with third-party AI coding agents. We provide the workspace; the agents, models, and their availability are provided by their respective vendors under their own terms.
Subscription & trial
- Kaptin Individual costs $5.99 per month, billed monthly.
- New accounts receive a 7-day free trial with full features. Cancel before it ends and you pay nothing.
- You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of your billing period. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
- Your Kaptin subscription does not include AI model usage, which is billed separately by your agent providers.
Acceptable use
Don't use Kaptin to break the law, infringe others' rights, probe or abuse our services, or share your account credentials. You're responsible for complying with your agent providers' terms, including how you use generated output.
Your content & generated code
Your projects and prompts remain yours. AI-generated code may be wrong, insecure, or license-encumbered — review and test everything before you ship, deploy, or rely on it. Kaptin provides inspection tools (Files, previews, diffs) but cannot guarantee the correctness of agent output.
Warranty & liability
Kaptin is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including losses from acting on AI-generated output. Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the preceding 12 months.
