Open a project. Start a conversation. Keep building.
Kaptin is the workspace around your AI coding agents — projects, conversations, previews, and files in one desktop app. Here's the basic loop.
Open or create a project
Bring an existing folder — Git repos welcome — or start fresh. Your files live on your machine, in a project you control. Kaptin watches the folder and shows changes as they land.
Start a conversation
Each conversation is one task with its own history: the homepage redesign, the bug hunt, the experiment. Name it, and switch between conversations without losing context.
Choose an agent
Pick Claude, Codex, Muse, OpenCode, or Ollama for the task at hand. Sign in once with your agent's CLI subscription, or add your own API key in Settings → Agents — Kaptin prefers your subscription when you're signed in.
Describe the work, watch it happen
Write a prompt in plain language. The agent reads your project and gets to work; the Agent Activity tab shows live progress, and approvals appear when the agent needs a decision.
Preview, inspect, iterate
Web projects render in the integrated browser beside the chat. Open Files to review every change, attach screenshots back into the conversation, and keep prompting until it's right. Nothing commits without your say-so.
Under the hood
On your computer. Kaptin works directly on your project folder — no cloud sync required, no lock-in.
On your machine, in your OS's secure credential store. API keys and CLI logins never pass through Kaptin's servers.
Whatever the conversation needs: your prompts, the project files it reads, and screenshots you attach. That content is processed by your chosen agent's provider under their terms.
Your crew is waiting.
Download Kaptin and run your first prompt — free for 7 days.
